We recommend all families join the Waiting List for their nearest Bright Steps Academy childcare centre as early as possible.

The waiting list is currently free to join, with no obligation to enrol your child. Families on the list will receive priority enrolment offers once your nearest Bright Steps Academy has the availability required. Waitlisted families are also welcome to enquire with other childcare services.

The first step to enrolling is joining the Waiting List.

Once you’ve joined, you’ll receive regular updates on the Waitlist and an offer will be made once your required days become available at your requested Centre.

Once you have accepted the position, an official confirmation of enrolment will be sent which will include further details about your child’s orientations, class requirements and first day.

Our Centre Director will welcome your family on your child’s first day and introduce you to their classroom. The Room Leader will assist with your child’s transition. Throughout the day, we’ll provide updates via phone and our family communication app, OWNA. Families are welcome to call and request additional support if needed.

At the end of the day, your child’s teachers will give a face-to-face update and an overview of your child’s activities, available through the OWNA app. We recommend early pickups during the first few days to help with transitioning.

We all feel a little uncertain when starting something new! Every child adjusts differently to a new care setting. Some may experience separation anxiety, while others may settle quickly. Factors such as age, development stage, previous care experience, and familiarity with the environment can influence how quickly your child adjusts.

We encourage patience during the first few weeks. If your child is distressed for an extended time, we will contact you for guidance. Our goal is to partner with families for a smooth transition to care.
